Espanola is located approximately 60 miles west from the city of Sudbury.
It's located on the Spanish river which is regarded as one the the finest
Pickerel (Walleye) fishing areas in Northern Ontario.
This town whose population is 5400, boasts one of the most modern paper
making mills in Canada. Nestled in a bowl shape basin, this modern municipality
with it's brand new seven million dollar recreational complex offers a wide
variety of activities. Also, it contains a large shopping mall, hardware and
appliance stores, grocery stores and many fine shops and restaurants.
Huddled within the White Dolomites of the Majestic La Cloche Mountains
along highway #6, are some of the scenic sites where the famous 'Group of Seven'
artists painted. This, together with many surrounding lakes and crown land, the
area affords much fish and wildlife to attract avid hunters and fishermen. |
